The Recycled Materials Association (ReMA), Washington, has named lifestyle audio brand Skullcandy the recipient of its first-ever Corporate Leadership & Innovation Award in recognition of its commitment to companywide sustainable practices and recycling.

Skullcandy’s new EcoBuds collection exemplifies this commitment, according to ReMA. Skullcandy says its EcoBuds were designed to reduce impact at every stage of the manufacturing process without compromising the product’s sound, look or fun. The Design for Recycling® Award is ReMA’s highest award that is given annually to the most outstanding contribution to products designed with recycling in mind. It recognizes the proactive steps made by manufacturers who have actively incorporated Design for Recycling® principles into their products and manufacturing processes.
